Increasing D2L Usage to Promote Student Learning

Desire to Learn (D2L) is OU's Course Management System. Presently around 40% of our faculty are using it to improve student learning in their courses. The importance of leveraging D2L to help students successfully matriculate through courses is increasing with the growing concern that the current flu season will be more pervasive than in recent years. In a recent letter to faculty Provost Mergler offered advice on how to handle the anticipated flu season. Among her recommendations, Dr. Mergler stated, "Faculty members are especially encouraged to use D2L as a way of communicating with their students on-line, when either the students or the faculty member are forced to miss class". To support this recommendation, LTP is supporting faculty in setting up and using D2L. Our newsletter lists the dates, describes the sessions and lists suggestions of what to bring to the workshops.
